Terms of use

What you may publish, and what is not acceptable.

These terms apply to Pétanque Manager and Pétanque Club. They mainly concern what the apps publish on your behalf: listings and live tracking of tournaments. How your data is processed is described in the privacy policy.

Purpose and acceptance

Pétanque Manager and Pétanque Club are apps for organising and tracking pétanque tournaments. Using them constitutes acceptance of these terms. If you disagree with any point, do not use the app — and if you have already installed it, uninstall it: as your data is stored on your device, that is enough to erase it.

Most of the app works offline, with no account. Only three features transmit information: live tracking, listings and assignment tracking. These are what these terms govern.

Who may publish

Publishing a listing or switching on live tracking requires you to be at least 13 years old. Below that age, the app remains usable for everything else — it then publishes nothing. Between 13 and 15, the consent of a parent or legal representative is required in order to publish: in France, a minor can consent alone to the processing of their data only from the age of 15. By publishing, you declare that you meet this condition. A club that organises a youth tournament and broadcasts its live tracking publishes the names of minors: it is the club's responsibility to obtain the consent of their legal representatives before doing so.

What you publish

You remain the owner of what you publish, and responsible for what it contains. By publishing it, you grant the right to display it on the public pages of the service, for the period provided for in the privacy policy.

Zero tolerance

No offensive content is tolerated, nor is any abusive author. The following in particular are prohibited:

  • insults, harassment, threats, incitement to hatred or violence;
  • sexual content, content depicting minors, and any unlawful content;
  • a person's photo or contact details published without their consent;
  • impersonation, disguised advertising, scams and the sale of something you do not own;
  • content protected by a copyright that is not yours.

The photos you attach to a listing must be your own, or taken with the consent of whoever is entitled to give it. The name and telephone number you give as the contact become public: that is the very purpose of a listing.

Reporting, removal, blocking

A listing can be reported from within the app. For any other content, write to contact@petanquemanager.fr, stating the page concerned. Reports are reviewed and manifestly unlawful content is removed without delay.

Content may be suspended or deleted, and its author barred from publishing, without notice and without compensation. A listing suspended following a report is not erased automatically: its record keeps track of what was reported.

Purchases and subscriptions

Pétanque Manager offers paid features, by tier and by module. Pétanque Club has no shop: it is supplied with no in-app purchases.

Purchases and subscriptions are concluded with Apple or Google, depending on the platform, and not directly with the publisher. A subscription renews automatically until it is cancelled; it is managed and cancelled in the settings of your App Store or Google Play account, at any time and no later than twenty-four hours before the end of the current period.

Refund requests are therefore a matter for the platform and its own rules. Your consumer rights, including the right of withdrawal where it applies, are exercised with the platform.

Availability, backups, liability

The service is provided as is, with no guarantee of continuous availability: a failure at the host, an interruption for maintenance or a change to a mobile platform remains possible.

Your data is not backed up on our servers: tournaments, players, scores and finances live on your device. If they are lost — broken device, app uninstalled — they are lost for good. Use the export function to keep a copy. The publisher cannot be held liable for the loss of data it never held, nor for the use you make of the app in organising your tournaments.

Changes to the terms, and disputes

These terms may change along with the app. Any new version is published at this address, with its date. Continuing to use the service after that publication constitutes acceptance.

They are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, first seek an amicable solution by writing to contact@petanquemanager.fr. Failing agreement, the French courts have jurisdiction; if you are a consumer, you retain the right to bring the matter before the courts of your place of residence.

The identity of the publisher and that of the host are given in the legal notice.
