The story of an enthusiast.
From frustration on the terrain to the creation of the first performance platform for pétanque.
The starting point
As a pétanque enthusiast, I have spent countless hours on the terrain. Between weekday training at the club and weekend tournaments, one nagging question kept coming back:
"How do I know if I am really improving?"
There was no way to find the answer. It is extremely hard to keep an accurate record of your performance without the right tool. The feel of a good game fades, and notebooks end up getting lost. A bridge was missing between leisure play and the demands of competition.
Independent development
Pétanque Manager was born to meet that personal need. Rather than wait for a solution to exist, I decided to build it. The brief was simple but demanding: a tool able to track performance (entering points, analysing shots end by end) while staying smooth and usable on the terrain, in full sun as well as at night thanks to Dark Mode.
Coaching standards (BF1)
A statistics app is not enough if you do not know how to improve. To give players real added value, I was lucky enough to work with a friend who is a BF1 coach (French federal coaching certificate).
Together we structured detailed lesson sheets and built a catalogue of more than 230 practical drills. This combination of data and hands-on coaching expertise is what makes Pétanque Manager unique today.
A vision beyond borders
Pétanque is a universal sport. From the outset, the app was built for internationalisation. Already available in French, English, Spanish, Italian and German, Pétanque Manager aims to help players and clubs around the world master their game.
The adventure is only just beginning. Join us on the terrain.
